#LandBack is core to any unsettling witchcrafts, magical or spiritual practice. It is important to recall that the persecution of witches in Europe and elsewhere has gone hand-in-hand with settler land grabs and violence against lands. So, unsettling witches are involved in and centre those directly affected by the oppressive violence of settler cultures. We also learn from Indigenous movements, which tell us that #LandBack means both the dismantling of settler control for ‘material’ return of lands to Indigenous (i.e. not-settler) cultures and peoples, as well as a ‘spiritual’ return to and of the lands.
