YOUR LUNAR NODES STORY (6 OCT-3 NOV 2021)

Horoscopes are relational maps. They enable awareness of our unfolding relationships to outer space from our varying times and positions on Earth. They give us vocabularies and timespace for developing our relationships with intentionality, accountability and reciprocity within the vast and complex community of our solar system. In doing so, horoscopes tell us about the stellar energies present and available to work with at any given point in spacetime. They remind us that we are in material-spiritual community with not just our human and unhuman kin on Earth but also in a larger community with our galactic relatives that demands response-ability.

Relationships need stories to grow, be challenged, and survive. So horoscopes are often read as layered and polyvocal stories. The horoscopes this month are told as your Lunar Nodes story. In other words, they are organised by your Lunar Nodes signs: the South Node and the North Node.

The Lunar Nodes reside where the lunar orbit cuts our Earth’s movement around the Sun, thus signaling a unique Earth-Moon-Sun relation. Since the lunar orbit intersects with the Earth’s orbit around the Sun at two distinct points, we have two lunar nodes, the South and North which are directly opposite to each other. In Hellenic astrology, the Lunar Nodes are represented by the Dragon, the North Node representing its head and the South Node its tail. Symbolically, the South Node is represented by

To find your Lunar Node signs, you need to look at your birth chart or your natal chart. Generating your birth/natal chart online will require you to input your date of birth, place of birth and time of birth. Since these are sensitive data, I highly recommend that you use only trusted web sources or other online cloaking technologies to protect your privacy.

A typical Hellenic natal chart may look like this:

The 12 zodiac constellations (Aries, Taurus, Gemini…etc.) typically go around in a circle and are represented by Graeco-Egyptian symbols in a Hellenic natal chart. These symbols look like this:

Aries: ♈︎ , Taurus: ♉︎ , Gemini: ♊︎ , Cancer: ♋︎ , Leo: ♌︎ , Virgo: ♍︎ , Libra: ♎︎ , Scorpio: ♏︎ , Sagittarius: ♐︎ , Capricorn: ♑︎ , Aquarius: ♒︎ , Pisces: ♓︎

Having got hold of your natal chart, you now need to note the zodiac constellation in which the South Node symbol appears. The North Node symbol will lie in the sign directly opposite. Together these will represent your Lunar Node signs.

If you have been chasing drama, stop. Excitement is an exhausting thing to chase. Relationships are not stagnant just because the  movement is not perceived. Sometimes it is in the stillness of the dream state that love and clarity emerges. You have more options than you think. But instead of being bamboozled by the glitz of the external, look within. What are your values? (Whatwho do you value?) And so, what will you prioritise? The longer you run from others, the longer you shall run from yourself. It is time to still, and root the relates.

If the food tastes good but neither fills nor nourishes you, is it really food? What have you been feeding yourself? Check your fridge. Was this food really yours or someone else’s leftovers planted in? Take some time out from this race and re-evaluate what really matters to you. There is no point in refusing a good dinner offer. But not all invites are meant for you. Are you capable? Of course! But this is not about capability, is it? It is about your desire and nourishment. You are allowed to change the menu or even have your own dinner party! Breakfast?

If you have been considering switching paths, this is your sign, do it. Your vision is clear, but it can still be tough to let go of past investments. Detachment is not altogether tough for you, but give yourself some spacetime to grieve. Crying is release. It will make the journey ahead easier, less burdened by bygones. New terrain awaits you, and so does the Universe on this new path, charging towards you with a mission, with gifts, with love. There will be new adventures, and new skills to learn. It is not always about others, it can be about you. Feel your feelings, they lurk in your body, not sorted in your head. You deserve fulfillment and peace.

North Node in Virgo, South Node in Pisces

You are releasing limitations, letting yourself die. And this death is beautiful for you shall be reborn again in your full magical, creativity, passions, intuitions. Your witch lies in you, waiting to be rediscovered. But for now dying could be hard, it is always heavy. Your pain is seen and felt, remember to feed and water yourself. Death kills you, it is part of life. You are going to get through this. Attend to the cycles of the moon, ebb and flow with it. Do not take on more than you need, say “no” more than you say “yes” this month.

Impatience is relatable, but rushing won’t get you where you want to be. (Has it yet?) Logical discernment instead of being swept by excitement and emotions shall help. The more you seek to avoid scenarios, the more they will chase you. Switch strategies. Instead of embroiling yourself in the chaser-avoider dynamic, could you stand still and conjure? You will take stock of your resources—intellectual, material, spiritual, and physical—and realise that pain and fear too can be transformative resources, but not in the transactional way you thought before.

Love may be spurned, but does not disappear. But is it really love when it makes you feel used? Patience may be a virtue but may turn into an abdication of responsibility when the situation calls for action. Speaking up may seem like a small act but can save lives. If you are unsure of timing, focus on being practical, look out for your finances. A windfall could shift the dynamics in your relations. What will you decide then? For decide you must. Now or later. Postponing a decision is still a decision. But there is no point in staying with broken promises that keep getting broken. The world is big enough to offer other stories. Action comes later, but for now it’s decision.

Tunnel vision could lead to successfully checked boxes but an unfulfilled heart. Afford equal time to relations with close friendships and to relations with work. A sense of ungroundedness may prevail even as your physical environment seems to say the opposite. Do not say nor offer something if you don’t deeply mean it—your (in)sincerity will speak more than your opulence. And if you feel you cannot be sincere, it is okay to withdraw. Use this time to dream expansive dreams, rather than trying to consolidate. If fear begins to drive you, remember you are not losing out on anything. Try to trust the process both in its peaks and troughs. You are loved more than you think.

Things have been cloudy, but the fog is clearing. You’ve faced your deepest fears and now you notice the love in your being. It is a gentle peaceful timespace where you shall find perfect harmony between attachment and detachment. Directed by love, you are keen on the path ahead. Congratulations on coming so far, you should be proud! Learning a new skill is on the horizon, hardwork imminent. There will be challenging days, but overall it will be an experience you shall enjoy. For nothing about this is mechanical, everything animate in conversation with the Universe. Take your time on this new journey, there is no rush. You already know you are on the path meant for you, this is just a confirmation.

North Node in Aquarius, South Node in Leo

After a hiatus, the world is beginning to see you again. But do not get so mesmerised by the chanting of the crowd that you lose your own priorities. Everyone may want you, that does not mean everyone deserves your energy-time. Before anyone else, you deserve your own energy-time. Things could fall out of balance quickly, so be careful what you agree to. In the rush to be seen, do not compromise on the fun unstructured playtime spent with your inner child. Schedule it as top priority. As much as you’d like to think it, your meiotic brilliance does not stem from others’ needs or the world’s approval, but from the kid that lives within you. Tend to them and you shall attract the fulfillment and community you deserve without trying.

North Node in Pisces, South Node in Virgo

Working too hard? Overwhelmed much? Take it slow! Take a break! Flirt. Play. Exercise. Your relations at home and at work and everywhere else too could perhaps do with a dose of lightness. Grounded lightness, we like to call it. That project is not as important as you think, and in the end we are all gonna die. You will realise that this is more a freeing than a depressing fact. Because it means you can live with doing 70% (30%?:)). Game the system, don’t feed it. Relationships are not meant to be pressured, but simply flow. Life is more laughter than seriousity. More curly than straight faces;) Enjoy it!

The wonder of the hunt is that it never goes as you will it. If it does, it’s not really a hunt, is it? (The hunt for love? The hunt for fulfillment? The hunt for partnership?) And then the best hunters do not chase their nourishment outside, they hang on to their dreams, listen to its messages, follow its instructions. Only to find themselves hunting for their own lost selves, then after many moons moving in love with themselves. And of course, in all this there is also the matter of territories. A hunter protects their boundaries, and is aware of others’. If not, it’s bad meat, irrelevant. But balance has never been struck, nor has peaceful love ever been discovered without good boundaries. With this message, your inner child riding a unicorn with a bunch of happy sunflowers cheerily calls out to you! How long will you keep neglecting them?

The largest trees have littlest seeds. And these seeds take time to take root. They may fly for miles and miles, but then fall they must somewhere. A rolling stone gathers no moss. So ask yourself: Are you being lured by FOMO? The grass is not always greener on the other side, but committed persistence can land you to secure abundance. Sudden movements can cause a flash in the pan, but render no sustenance. Is sustainability what you seek? If so, abandoning a bird in hand to quest after glittery gold may not be the right move.
