YOUR LUNAR NODES STORY (25 SEP-25 OCT 2022)

Horoscopes are relational maps. They enable awareness of our unfolding relationships to outer space from our varying times and positions on Earth. They give us vocabularies and timespace for developing our relationships with intentionality, accountability and reciprocity within the vast and complex community of our solar system. In doing so, horoscopes tell us about the stellar energies present and available to work with at any given point in spacetime. They remind us that we are in material-spiritual community with not just our human and unhuman kin on Earth but also in a larger community with our galactic relatives that demands response-ability.

Relationships need stories to be challenged, grow, learn, and survive. So horoscopes are often read as layered and polyvocal stories. The horoscopes this month are told as your Lunar Nodes story. In other words, they are organised by your Lunar Nodes signs: the South Node and the North Node.

The Lunar Nodes reside where the lunar orbit cuts our Earth’s movement around the Sun, thus signaling a unique Earth-Moon-Sun relation. Since the lunar orbit intersects with the Earth’s orbit around the Sun at two distinct points, we have two lunar nodes, the South and North which are directly opposite to each other. In Hellenic astrology, the Lunar Nodes are represented by the Dragon, the North Node representing its head and the South Node its tail. Symbolically, the South Node is represented by

To find your Lunar Node signs, you need to look at your birth chart or your natal chart. Generating your birth/natal chart online will require you to input your date of birth, place of birth and time of birth. Since these are sensitive data, I highly recommend that you use only trusted web sources or other online cloaking technologies to protect your privacy.

A typical Hellenic natal chart may look like this:

The 12 zodiac constellations (Aries, Taurus, Gemini…etc.) typically go around in a circle and are represented by Graeco-Egyptian symbols in a Hellenic natal chart. These symbols look like this:

Aries: ♈︎ , Taurus: ♉︎ , Gemini: ♊︎ , Cancer: ♋︎ , Leo: ♌︎ , Virgo: ♍︎ , Libra: ♎︎ , Scorpio: ♏︎ , Sagittarius: ♐︎ , Capricorn: ♑︎ , Aquarius: ♒︎ , Pisces: ♓︎

Having got hold of your natal chart, you now need to note the zodiac constellation in which the South Node symbol appears. The North Node symbol will lie in the sign directly opposite. Together these will represent your Lunar Node signs.

If the complexity of choices is haunting you, instead of gathering more data from the external, go within. Information dump is not your friend, clarity emerges upon the surface of calm water, not castles in the sand. Sit under a tree in the daytime and observe its energies.

North Node in Gemini, South Node in Sagittarius

Feelings of brokenness shall wither once you find your passion project. It is not just about meeting the right people; it is also about answering the call you feel on the inside. Take a chance, research and pursue a childhood dream, go on an adventure! It doesn’t need to cost you anything to take a small step. Like watching a tutorial or informational video about that forgotten dream?

Love is in the air! It began with self-love, love for your inner child, now movement towards immersing yourself with love in the community. It is good to move forward but remember to push not too hard. Remember it is about people, and even when it is about things, things are people too. Respect, listening, and patience.

North Node in Leo, South Node in Aquarius

Sometimes it is hard to sit with, listen to, and validate challenging emotions, and much more tempting to analyse, take action to solve, rationalise, make things go away. But emotions are messengers, and things are here for a reason. What stories are your challenging emotions really trying to tell? The answer might just dislodge your creative blocks.

North Node in Virgo, South Node in Pisces

You are learning balance. Crows and lions have plenty to teach you. Passion and logic. Remember: Fanning a fire feeds the flames keeping you cosy in a cold night, but a gale can also ignite a forest fire, reducing your homes to flames. So go slow and be present as you fan your fire. As you were.

North Node in Libra, South Node in Aries

If a small child came to you telling you they were dead tired and needed rest, would you let them? Would you afford them a safe space to lie down? Then what stops you from treating your inner child the same way? Rest is resistance. A short soft retreat from the world will afford you much needed time and attention to the child that lives inside of you.

North Node in Scorpio, South Node in Taurus

It is okay to walk away from what does not feel quite right. So what if the world covets it? In a collaborative effort, make sure to speak up and push for your own vision. You are capable. If feelings of fear or shame come up, ask if they really belong to you or are someone else’s? Are those voices in your head really you, or someone from your past? Who?

North Node in Sagittarius, South Node in Gemini

Is the fear of uncertainty driving your decision-making lately? Consult with your heart and ask if you would still take this path if you were not afraid? Remember emotions are practical too: If your heart’s not in X, is X really practically sustainable? Opening up about your fears to a trusted loved one might help in unexpected ways.

North Node in Capricorn, South Node in Cancer

It is okay to lead, initiate, and take up space. In what ways does shame drive you to keep you small? Systems of patriarchy, caste, and race work through the amplification of shame and you know it. But sometimes you just got to power through, experiment with taking an initiative, taking up space, leading a project, and see what happens? You are more capable than you have been made to believe.

North Node in Aquarius, South Node in Leo

A new connection or passion ignites. It shall be important to protect your time-energy. No is a complete sentence and powerful word, but shame can drive us to not use it. You cannot be everything to everyone. You cannot even be some things to everyone. A seed planted takes time to germinate. Wait. How does shame drive you to ignore your own limits and boundaries (and in the process, that of others?). Think! Preferably before you act;)

North Node in Pisces, South Node in Virgo

Gripping tightly onto something does not necessarily make it stay, it can even destroy it. How does your fear of abandonment tie into the ways shame crops up in your relationships? Remember there is nothing wrong with you for feeling shame or fear. We all do. You are a beloved child of this Earth, or you would not be here. You are loved, even if by people and beings you would not expect. Take a walk in a forest and just talk to your spirit guides to feel this love. You do not need to be perfect because you are good enough.

North Node in Aries, South Node in Libra

Sometimes things just fall apart, and it is no one’s fault. Nope, not even yours. And sometimes you will make mistakes, and then it is important to acknowledge it, feel the error and eventually, forgive yourself. This is how we learn and grow. Grieving is important, but feeling joy and inspiration is important too. Instead of shaming yourself, let the cat drink the spilled milk. It is time now to plan your next adventure. Where shall you go from here? The world is your oyster, don’t let fear or shame tell you otherwise!
