Horoscopes are relational maps. They enable awareness of our unfolding relationships to outer space from our varying times and positions on Earth. They give us vocabularies and timespace for developing our relationships with intentionality, accountability and reciprocity within the vast and complex community of our solar system. In doing so, horoscopes tell us about the stellar energies present and available to work with at any given point in spacetime. They remind us that we are in material-spiritual community with not just our human and unhuman kin on Earth but also in a larger community with our galactic relatives that demands response-ability.
Relationships need stories to grow, be challenged, and survive. So horoscopes are often read as layered and polyvocal stories. The horoscopes this month are told as your Lunar Nodes story. In other words, they are organised by your Lunar Nodes signs: the South Node and the North Node.
The Lunar Nodes reside where the lunar orbit cuts our Earth’s movement around the Sun, thus signaling a unique Earth-Moon-Sun relation. Since the lunar orbit intersects with the Earth’s orbit around the Sun at two distinct points, we have two lunar nodes, the South and North which are directly opposite to each other. In Hellenic astrology, the Lunar Nodes are represented by the Dragon, the North Node representing its head and the South Node its tail. Symbolically, the South Node is represented by

To find your Lunar Node signs, you need to look at your birth chart or your natal chart. Generating your birth/natal chart online will require you to input your date of birth, place of birth and time of birth. Since these are sensitive data, I highly recommend that you use only trusted web sources or other online cloaking technologies to protect your privacy.
A typical Hellenic natal chart may look like this:
The 12 zodiac constellations (Aries, Taurus, Gemini…etc.) typically go around in a circle and are represented by Graeco-Egyptian symbols in a Hellenic natal chart. These symbols look like this:
Aries: ♈︎ , Taurus: ♉︎ , Gemini: ♊︎ , Cancer: ♋︎ , Leo: ♌︎ , Virgo: ♍︎ , Libra: ♎︎ , Scorpio: ♏︎ , Sagittarius: ♐︎ , Capricorn: ♑︎ , Aquarius: ♒︎ , Pisces: ♓︎
Having got hold of your natal chart, you now need to note the zodiac constellation in which the South Node symbol appears. The North Node symbol will lie in the sign directly opposite. Together these will represent your Lunar Node signs.

Stuck are we? Hanging in an uncomfortable position are we? Escape from here will require the following skills: An ability to give. Give up. What are you trying to save? And why? Instead throw a party, a party with more food than drink or candy and feed your friends. Then feed strangers. Those in need. Feed a nourishing soup to yourself and to others. Make it a ritual. Then trust. Repeat the ritual. And trust that this knot too shall slip.

Relating in love shall provide you an escape route on paths that seem even well-fortified by Colonial-Ableist-Capitalist-Patriarchy. When outcomes are not apparent, insecurity threatens to swallow and the paths seem daunting, meditate upon the Dragon and call them to you. There is love here, should you choose to nurture it. Feeling grief is a part of loving, a part of relating in love.

Security comes from vulnerability, not in opposition to it. Your spell to escape calls upon Justice. Not one of superficial courts and law but in processes that realise the fragility of our existence and instead of choosing to secure it in an act of fear, converse with it in an act of vulnerability. Of course you have limitations, and you would do well to honour them. The hard part is knowing which are real limitations and which are fear-based insecurities and when. Ask, then listen to forests, trees, plants, herbs for answers for they know the secrets of security in vulnerability.

You cannot escape loss, is trying worth it? But spells for escape may still be found in grief. These are not spells to escape grieving like a pop pill but a spell to root your grief in ways that bring awareness to your forming relations to a different world. Not here. Your Presence shifts elsewhere through this spell and through your tears you spy a world of unimaginable beauty. How to craft this spell? Surrender to the Unknown. Then ask a trustworthy cat. Or a shy fox. And listen for answers. Literally. Then trust those answers.

Your escape needs a plan. An escape plan. A clear concrete plan that outlines your needs, your current relations, relations you seek, skills you need to develop accordingly, and what you need to develop those skills. Your spell for escaping is most potent when you have a plan and are dedicate to incrementally working to real-ise it. Routines are rituals. And rituals help escape plans by strengthening your relationships to the un/human world around you.

Spells are stronger when crafted in collaboration with other humans, escape spells even more so. And without un/human collaboration-conversations, ‘spells’ are no longer spells but just random words and actions bunched together to stroke your fine ego. If you seek true escape from what you deem unlivable, you shall require: humility to take others seriously, trust in their value even when not immediately apparent, non-judgment and openness to admit your own limitations and learn from others. Together with these conversation-acts you shall be ready to craft effective spells for escapeage.

Escaping is powerful witchcraft and requires both strategy (craft) and a commitment to the occults. By which we mean no particular tradition of science or magick, but rather a commitment to embracing that which is uncertain, unknown, unformed, untamed, untameable, unknowable. How long shall you let Fear make decisions for you? Peel your layers. You get to decide how you live and in what relations. Self-abuse or response-ability? Art shall help. When the glass house shatters, there is no longer the need to deny your creative truth. Cycles are spirals, different from unending loops.

Travel, changing locations, expanding your relations of knowings, broadening horizons, walking into unknown lands…not with the will to subjugate but to develop good relations. All of this shall help you in crafting your spells for escape. But in this milieu forget not who you are, your values, what you know as truth in your earthbody. Bone knowledge or, being in reciprocal relations (of knowing) with your bones must not be discarded for books, sages, and prophets. Certainly not for a fruitful escape.
North Node in Capricorn, South Node in Cancer
It is good to root ourselves in human relations, but too much human drama devoid of relations with the unhuman Earth is not conducive for developing spells of escape. You have emotional needs and they are valid but are you too reliant upon other humans for their fulfillment? No, the alternative does not need to be neoliberal individualistic isolationalism. It could also be a carefull initiation of relationships with the not-human land you live upon, the soil, the waters, the creatures and the trees. Creatures like the Dragon but also creatures like the bird that visits you every morning upon the windowsill, the crab you found on the beach. Have you begun conversations with them yet? Have you actually listened to their problems? Have you asked them how to escape?
North Node in Aquarius, South Node in Leo
Spells to escape need a balance between stimulants from creative timespaces you carve in community and need to be by yourself, your alone time, gathering and re-arranging your own resources. Awareness of your boundaries in real time can create openings, open doors where you thought none existed. This is not an easy task or a natural skill but requires careful practice over a long period of time to be cultivated.
North Node in Pisces, South Node in Virgo
Escaping is a creative act that shall first require you to let go of all the heavy material baggage from pasts presents and futures that you carry. No need to hoard, just give away what at present you need not, and that goes for emotional baggage too. Organise your emotional investments. If magick is being offered to you, there is no point in saying no just because you have not sipped from this cup yet. What is this mistrust? Look at a sunflower, and learn from it trust. Then remember the Dragon and how easily it shakes of millenia of slander to still relate with you in play.
North Node in Aries, South Node in Libra
Crafting spells is impossible when you are armed to the teeth. Escape is difficult when the weight of armour weighs you down. Beginning the process of disarmament is a first step to creating a spell for escaping. Try replacing some of your protective urges with curiosity and see what happens? What are you trying to save anyway, oppressive relations with this Earth or the Universe? But don’t worry, you are tiny. This is not disempowering, but a freeing realisation, because it permits you to let go of burdens that are not yours to carry. Imagine what curious exploration would feel like if it weren’t wedded to obsessions to claim, conquer, tame, gather, collect or name? What a different world it would be! There somewhere in the light shadows of imagination, you shall find your escape spell(s).
